into san jose very quickly and true to form, here we are, back independent almost all the way up to 101. i want to put it on the map to show -- to show you what's going on. this is the problem we're talking about. northbound 280 and the slow traffic we just showed you. also, 87 has been slow because of an earlier crash, not only in the south bay do we have slow traffic. it's slowing on 880 southbound from 288 from fremont. and interstate 680 from concord to walnut creek and also slow on highway 4. we had an accident on the bridge. but that's gone. it's backed up for about 20, 30 minutes. >>> let's go to mark tamayo. just beautiful out there this morning. we have cloud cover, breaks in the clouds. no rainfall but that will be changing. it has been an exciting week forecast-wise. we started off with the weather pattern transitioning quickly. right now, some rain and snowshowers out toward the sierra. this is what we're watching out to the north. rain band out towards cape mendocino. still a -- still a bit of a breeze out there, winds coming in from 15 to 16 miles hour. current numbers, reall
oakland, 53 mountain view. san jose low 50s. you are warmer this morning. and most locations gilroy, though, 47 degrees. so the 24-hour temperature change, looking at numbers mainly three to six degrees warmer from our coast around the bay. but we do have that cooler air mass with those temperatures dropping into the upper 40s near napa and santa rosa. about a half-mile visibility toward novato. a mile and three quarters santa rosa and napa looking at four-mile visibility, as well. throughout the day today we will look for the warmer afternoon with the numbers coming up to more spring-like readings. mid-70s downtown today and possible record warmth tomorrow through election day with more 80s around the bay than 70s. san benito county, southern monterey could reach 90 degrees by tomorrow. the warming begins today as the high pressure builds in from the eastern pacific. it will stay that way for the next 48 hours. by wednesday, though, a big drop. a midweek cool-down with numbers dropping at much at ten to fifteen degrees. then the rain comes overnight wednesday into thursday. light s

further to the south right now towards san jose. that line off the coastline is still developing. that's going to be moving onshore going to bring another band of some heavy rainfall on the way. still the san jose area catching the brunt of it right now in through the santa cruz mountains. and urban and small stream flood advisories have just been issued for the santa cruz county area as we are expecting some strong storms to bring more heavy rainfall there and the possibility of some flooding. in towards san francisco, south san francisco, you have a band of heavy rainfall making its way along the 280 an 101. watch out for that. in the east bay strong storms there, near concord another cell moving in your direction. watch out, danville! in the next five five to 10 minutes it's going to start raining heavily here. the damage is done. we have see a tremendous amount of rainfall and flooding in petaluma along the creek there penngrove, expected to flood this morning. flood warnings are up there. we could see more of that on the way not only today but into the weekend as we have mor

'm jon kelley. san jose police on the scene of a deadly hit and run. that is where bob rydell is. what can you tell us? what's the latest? >> reporter: good morning, jon. we're here at the intersection of allen rock and jackson in san jose. we're waiting for the coroner to arrive to complete their part of the investigation and remove the body, as you can see, it is still in the middle of the road. it appears this person was carrying a backpack of some sort, perhaps trying to cross the street when they were hit and killed. this was a hit and run. police are looking for that driver. the only description they have is the dark colored vehicle heading wet bound on allen rock. we understand at least one witness who flagged down a bus, offer help, was able to identify the car. route 70 by the way is being rerouted. a investigation will focus on the road conditions at the time. it was just after 6:00 this happened so it was still dark out and most likely raining at the time. you can see, it's been raining off and on. so whether weather conditions played a role in the accident will be part of t
